Newmarket

Newmarket is Auckland’s premiere fashion, shopping and entertainment destination. Known for its leafy, boutique-lined streets and cobbled pavements, this high-end precinct is home to more than 500 retail stores and 120 cafes.

One of Auckland’s first trading posts, travellers of olde would stop in Newmarket to re-shod horses, trade livestock and goods, and enjoy some hospitality. Today, it's home to New Zealand’s best selection of designer stores, including Karen Walker, Kate Sylvester, David Jones, Superette, Juliette Hogan, Moochi, RUBY and Kathryn Wilson.

The recently redeveloped Westfield Newmarket has more than 230 new stores and eateries, including the exciting new ‘Rooftop on Broadway’.

Street art by local and international artists set the scene for an excellent selection of restaurants, bars and activities. Take your kids to the bowling alley or catch a film at one of Newmarket's three movie complexes.

Newmarket is an accessible hotspot with the regions second busiest train station in the heart of the precinct, as well as being on the Inner and Outer City Bus Link.
